A close friend of mine mentioned that he was going to Chicago for the opening NFL game, Bears v. Packers this past Sunday. I have known for a long time he was a die-hard, cheese hat, jersey wearing Green Bay Packers fan (you know the type), so I decided to make calls to surprise him with a pre or post- game meet and greet.
On the 3rd call I was told..."that is opening day and it's on the road, there is not a chance of making that happen, but good luck." My head started to spin and all the memories of people telling me "that's not possible" ran through my head like a fast paced powerpoint of negativity.
Now, those who know me know that I thrive on the challenge...I mean tell me something can't be done and I will make sure I exhaust every option to prove you wrong. Heck, I built The APC Agency (my business, for those who don't know) to cater to some of the most impossible needs of clients, and in eight years there has been one request that I could not deliver, and yes it haunts me.
To me, the challenge of getting someone on the field for a football game sounded relatively easy. Well, it wasn't, but when I got out of my own way and truly strategized the right people in the right places at the right time and BOOM it hit me. I made a call to someone who has long supported me, my business and passions and his response "shouldn't be a problem, let me make a call." And two days later...
